Welcome to Parea London, a luxury barbershop on Upper Street in Islington, just a short walk from Angel Underground Station. Parea is built on an old idea, that a great haircut should never feel rushed.

The name comes from the Greek word "parea", meaning a close circle of friends gathered together, sharing time, conversation and good company. That's really the feeling we set out to create, not just somewhere to get your hair cut, but somewhere you're genuinely looked after.

Parea was founded by three friends, Dale, Noel and Alex, who bring a combined 40 years in the industry, over 20 of them spent as barbering educators, before opening a shop of their own. That background shapes how Parea works, and it's also why we think of ourselves less as a barbershop and more as a men's hair salon, with a real focus on scissor work and creative styling rather than the usual in-and-out clipper cut. Every visit starts with an in-depth consultation, so we understand exactly what you want before we pick up a comb, and it doesn't stop there. We'll give you honest advice on the products that actually suit your hair and styling tips you can take home and use yourself, not just a good cut for the day you walk out.

We want coming to Parea to feel like an experience, not a transaction. Settle in with a proper coffee, tea, or a sustainably packaged canned water, and take your time. Enjoy the sun in our garden area, or if you can't bear the heat, step inside to our fully air-conditioned salon and enjoy the process as much as the result. We're proudly independent, with no chain or franchise behind us, just three people building something we're genuinely proud of, doing things properly and sustainably as we grow. And above all, Parea is rooted in community. Islington is home, and we want the shop to feel like it.
